Get to Know Us

We are a training school based in Lytham St Annes that specialises in an innovative way of dog training known as ‘concept training’.

Did you know you can train your dog to make great real life choices by playing games with them? Concepts such as optimism in the face of new challenges, focus on you at all times and self control in stressful situations can help you turn your dog’s struggles into strengths.

Whatever struggle you are facing with your dog, there is a game for that! Games that are simple to learn and train and more importantly fun for you and your dog. This won’t even feel like training! We concentrate on inspiring our dogs and owners rather than punishing, depriving or intimidating them.

We specialise in small class sizes so that you and your dog can get the individual attention you need. Our classes are full of positivity and people who want to give their dogs the best life possible.

How many training classes have you attended where your dog is taught behaviours such as ‘sit’ or ‘down’ and how to walk to heel? These behaviours usually work great in the environment in which they have been taught, but will your dog still listen to cues or walk calmly in real life situations?

Many training techniques try to get you to confront any problems you have usually resulting in worsening behaviour and an overwhelmed dog and owner! We believe in training not IN the situation but FOR the situation.

Many struggles you have with your dog such as barking at others, pulling on lead etc are caused by emotions such as fear. These dogs are usually labelled as aggressive or naughty when really they are just worried about the situation they are in and are coping the best way they know how.

The reason why games work is because they teach concepts such as self control, optimism, confidence and focus allowing your dog to make great decisions in everyday situations.

These easy 3 minute games are a great way to take the pressure off training for both you and your dog. They help build bonds and make you the most exciting thing in your dog’s environment. No more chasing after squirrels and impossible recall!

We only use up to date, science based positive reinforcement in our classes. Our trainers are fully qualified and approved by several organisations. We are constantly updating our learning so that we can provide the best training for you and your dog.

Success Stories

We are really enjoying our Life Skills sessions. It’s positive reinforcement training and a world away from obedience training classes that I had done and hated years ago with a previous dog. With Sarah’s session we leave feeling excited to play the training games because it’s fun, it definitely enhances the relationship with your dog. I can already see his confidence and focus building and we are only on week 2. I would definitely recommend if you want a confident happy dog.

Sarah W

I started training with Sarah because my cocker over lockdown became very scared and nervous of loud noises and new places, she’s come on leaps and bounds with the confidence training! Sarah’s so lovely and professional (and patient with a crazy cocker) so I recommend to anyone!

Polly S

Sarah has been a fantastic help in training Alba. Her positive training methods through short and engaging games have resulted in a confident, happy and most importantly mellow dog who’s a dream to have in our house! I would recommend any of Sarah’s courses.

Matthew P

Sarah walks Poppy twice a week. Poppy loves when Sarah comes to visit and is clearly feeling and looking healthier thanks to the extra exercise and interaction.

We have just completed the 6 week puppy foundations course. We would highly recommend it for anyone with a new pup. All of the games, training and tips were really relevant and helpful. Sarah is great and very knowledgeable. Thank you Transfurmations.

Sarah is very supportive and is happy to answer questions during training sessions and if you need support she can be reached to provide advice via email. This is the third dog trainer I have tried and have already seen improvements with my dog, which is all thanks to the games that we are taught.

I've just completed the 6 week puppy foundation class with my 5 months old american bulldog x cane corso rescue. I'd highly recommend Sarah and the puppy course. She was full of knowledge of my dog's breeds and the best way to train her. Sarah was also extremely patient with my nervous puppy and have alternative approaches to tasks that made my dog feel more comfortable. The games and training already have been useful and we will continue to use them to keep my puppy safe. Thank you!

Our golden retriever puppy Sylvie loved the classes. They really helped to build her confidence. Sarah is super friendly and always happy to answer any training questions. It was very important to us to find a trainer who used positive training methods and Sarah does that fantastically, making training fun for our pup and more fun for us too. It has been great playing games with her to increase her joy around us and to see more value in focussing on us. We have taken what we have learnt from puppy training and used the methods for our 4 year old dog too. We loved that the training is focussed on life skills. Thank you Sarah, highly recommended.

Sarah is the loveliest most tuned in person in the world. She helped me with my dog reactive hound and I've seen great improvement on our walks. She's given me the skills to understand where my dog's head is which has give us a better relationship. Keep on doing what you're doing Sarah!
